Event Experience

Since 1999, Summer Isle has partnered with a number of top Jamaican organisations to promote Basketball and Soccer events. Our most outstanding celebrity attendee has been Jamaican born NBA superstar Patrick Ewing who shared his passion for Basketball at our Star Search Camp in 2000.

Jamaica is home to many of the world's top athletes who come from very humble origin and only realized their dreams because someone gave them the opportunity to be seen by top coaches. To continue this tradition of finding our ‘hidden talents', in 2004, Summerisle partnered with the Jamaica Youth Development Foundation to stage its inaugural ‘College Fair' which attracted over four thousand students. Several athletes were offered scholarships to US colleges and schools. We were honoured and elated to bring home as our special guest Jamaican born Miami Dolphins Linebacker Marlon Greenwood.

To know more about Summer Isle is to learn a little about its visionary founder Maureen Wright-Evans. This dynamic entrepreneur wears many ‘hats' but she says it best "my happiest moments are when I am showing off Jamaica."

 In 2004, Maureen wanted to grow Summer Isle with some new product lines. She combined her passion for Jamaica, love for giving, and adventurous spirit in a whole range of packages target to exploring Jamaica, Volunteering and having fun.
